My stepson is a private in the Army. This brings a mixture of pride and worry. As we celebrate our country’s freedom today, his unit is less than five miles away from the latest terrorist bombing in Baghdad! It’s unnerving, but imagine how he must feel? Many of our friends and family members have served our country. My Dad served in the Korean War and my uncle served in World War II. The emotion that most readily comes to mind is gratefulness. One of the most satisfying aspects of my job is to connect our military veterans with the veterans they served alongside or with their own family members. Many lose touch after leaving the service and the passage of time makes it more difficult to track people down. Do you know a vet that would like to reconnect with their fellow veterans or family? We would love to help. Happy 4th of July to our great nation!
